Cassandra Rosa West: Birth and Postnatal Doula Mentor
Having been an active doula for over 10 years it feels natural, and beautiful, to be able to support others as they embark on this journey.
All of my students have navigated deep lessons and wisdoms along this path, it’s both collective and personal, and very hard not to have profound experiences when working in this field! It's my joy to walk beside you during this time.
As your Mentor I consider myself your doula: doulaing you as you initiate yourself into an established doula. I have many years experience supporting freebirths, home births, birth centre and hospital births, and have been involved with maternity improvement initiatives in Central America, working on a number of labour wards across Honduras, modelling compassionate care. I integrate a range of approaches into my work and can share insights and resources with you, as appropriate to your inclinations. This includes experience as a womens health massage therapist, naturopath, rebozo practitioner and lay herbalist.
I love supporting clients and mentees alike to get involved in embodied activities...such as nature connection, making herbal products, nourishing meals, dancing and creating threshold art. As a Mentor, I will help you discover what kind of Doula you are and encourage you on a path of self-reflection and development. I will act as a valuable reflective instrument and draw upon my knowledge to intuit pointers, ideas and tools for your unfolding journey. I also have a particular passion around self care - how you can best look after yourself, integrate experiences, and nourish yourself throughout. Cassandra offers birth and postnatal Doula guidance.

Samsara Tanner: Birth and Postnatal Mentor
Birth and Postnatal Doula, Doula Course facilitator.
Samsara's soul has always been called to Birthing. Samsara has been attending births since she was 24, soon after her own glorious moment of empowerment when birthing her firstborn son. Each of her 4 births were attended by wonderful birth doulas.
Trained in Intuitive Counselling with Scott Washington in 1994 and in Childbirth Education with Parent Centre Australia in 1988, she became very involved with the Australian grass roots home birthing movement.
Samsara has been teaching birth preparation classes and attending births for over 26 years now and this rich wealth of experience now joyfully includes having been present for the birth of her first grandson. Her experiences have lead her to the understanding that honouring the mother and baby relationship is what is most needed to support healthy mothers and families. To facilitate this, she created the Mumababy Sanctuary in Lewes, Sussex in 2013, a beautiful centre supporting women and their families with complementary therapies, drop-in support and circles for pregnant and new Muma's, as well as a hub for local doulas.
Witnessing and supporting the journey of the mother and family through the full four trimesters of the ‘birthing year’, pregnancy, birth and the first months of mothering is what makes Samsara really excited. It is this role that she calls that of 'Birth-Keeper'.
Samsara is now delivering Doula preparation courses for Conscious Birthing and is excited to be a Mentor for new Student Doulas coming through the Courses. She is also involved in running workshops for Mothers and Daughters 'Coming of age' programmes, exploring the path of Conscious Menopause, and that of the role of Grand-Mothering.

Daisy Dinwoodie: Birth Doula Mentor
Daisy was unexpectedly and happily pulled to support birth during her training as a birth educator. She has supported and witnessed many births in and around Edinburgh since 2007, in hospitals, homes and birth centres. She enjoys advocating with and for families, and on behalf of future women, through working with the services in the local MSLC and helping women know of their rights. She facilitates a monthly Homebirth Support Group in Edinburgh since 2006, also teaches pregnancy yoga classes (with lots of tea, biscuits and chat) and Active Birth workshops for couples. Daisy is passionate about singing and connecting with women through song and she hosts Woman Song, a monthly circle for women.
Daisy feels strongly that women know their truth, and that all they need is support and information to be able to make the decisions that are right for them and their families. She uses Talking Mats in her work with couples to help them to find and express their views around their birth and to debrief afterwards.
She was so beautifully mentored and helped to discover her own truth, values and confidence as she became a doula. She wants to help other doulas find themselves and their true value in this work.

Fiona Reilly: Birth and Postnatal Doula Mentor
Fiona is passionate about empowering women and families to choose what feels right for them around birth and parenthood. She has worked as a birth and postnatal doula since 2011. She is committed to supporting people in the choices that are right for them and helping them work through fears or experiences that need resolving.
Fiona has a psychology degree, and a certificate in counseling skills. She is reflective of her practise and has gained much confidence and knowledge through her life and professional experiences. She values the power of listening to and following our own truth and intuition. We all have our own answers, we just need to look within and one of her aims is to support you in finding your own truth. She practices as a one to one active listening therapist, in person or online, and also supports groups. In addition, Fiona enjoys offering maternity reflexology.
She is truly excited about offering support to new doulas, as she recognizes the immense value of sharing and exchanging support with others. The encouragement and guiding hands of her mentor and fellow doulas made her steps into doulahood a much smoother and more joyful experience. She continues to offer and receive the support of her fellow doula sisters for which she is immensely grateful and is enthused to offer such support to establishing doulas.

Cyd Lee: Birth and Postnatal Doula Mentor
Cyd’s passion for all things around birth comes from a profound desire and knowing that empowering women through childbirth will lead to major positive changes in our society.
Her journey with assisting births began in 1984 when , as a trainee Nursery Nurse, she started her placement in Basingstoke Hospital maternity ward. The experience and practices she witnessed there left a very strong impression, and were later to be the foundation of a powerful desire to help change the way of mainstream birthing and offer women an alternative, more empowering way to birth their babies.
She starting assisting friends at their home births during the nineties and eventually birthed her first daughter at home with a community midwife who totally respected all her wishes. The feeling she had after that birth was so amazing, empowering and fulfilling , she wanted every woman to be able to feel it! So began many different trainings, in all sorts of modalities, to build up her knowledge, from aromatherapy to hypnotherapy, shamanic midwifery to Birth trauma recovery.
One of those courses was with Kate Woods, Conscious Birthing Doula Training, and this was the one that really sparked the desire to get going in earnest. She had her first client while the training was taking place, which gave a perfect springboard into the world of assisting births as a professional doula. This client later became her backup doula!
Over the last five years she has assisted with more than 50 births.
Cyd lives on a small island in the Mediterranean, Ibiza. It's a tight community of generally open minded international people, many of whom have escaped the mainstream paradigm and are looking for alternative ways to live their lives, with deeper meaning and integrity. The role of the doula is welcomed here, at home and in the hospitals. Kate's Doula courses have been a huge success and have helped enormously in building up a solid birthing community of practitioners on the island. Cyd is assisting with the Mentorship Programme for doulas that have trained with Conscious Birthing and works closely with many of the various pregnancy practitioners on the island. She also facilitates birth preparation classes.
Empowering women has become a way of life now, whether it's hosting a red tent Moonlodge, guiding new doulas, or educating mums to be, it is her mission, her purpose and her passion.

Eva Greenslade: Birth and Postnatal Mentor
Eva is a Birth and Postnatal Doula, a Nature Based Life Rites Celebrant, Shamanic Practitioner and Tutor at the College of Sound Healing. Eva lives in Brighton with her family and is a mum of four children.
Eva began her doula path in 2016 when she stepped into a beautifully held space for five days of what felt like a doula retreat, listening to Samara Tanner speak about birth on a Conscious Birthing initial training course in Brighton. Eva soon after left her full time job in the NHS to build a doula path.
Eva weaves her interests, life and work experiences deeply into her doula work.
As your mentor Eva will listen to you, hold space for you to debrief, guide you in the practical and marketing as well as emotional and spiritual realms of a doula and holding space for your families. Eva will help you find and weave your own passions and interests into your support for your clients.
Eva feels the doula role is more a spiritual path than a job, it takes your heart and moves your soul. It is a path of trust, passion, commitment, and when you open your heart and dedicate yourself, your path will unfold ahead of you so beautifully.

Mollie Claypool-Glass: Birth and Postnatal Mentor
I am a full spectrum doula originally from the east coast of the US (I have been in the UK since 2008). I came towards doula work via my pregnancy, birth and postnatal experience with my son, where we were supported by a doula. I had a complex late pregnancy and immediate postpartum period and felt strongly that my doula’s support was essential to my own experience. I began to realise that I had a calling to supporting people throughout their childbearing years, and supported several friends and family through their own pregnancy experiences. 2 years after I had my own child, I trained to be a doula with Kate Woods of Conscious Birthing. I have taken trauma-informed and biomechanics courses and trained as a 3 Step Rewind Technique practitioner. I have done my advanced training with Mars Lord of Abuela Doulas. In February 2022, I welcomed my second child, a girl, when I had a wonderful and powerful birth at home in the water with an independent midwife.
As a full spectrum doula I support the entire spectrum of fertility. I provide care around miscarriage, abortion, trying for a baby including IVF, TFMR, birth and postnatal care. My 'speciality' is in antenatal empowerment and resilience, trauma-informed work, biomechanics and informed choice. My background as a researcher in academia and as an environmental activist has set me up well for this work.
Every person is different, and every journey during the childbearing years will be different, too. All doulas bring with them their own experiences, and so I believe in the power of a tailored, personalised and supported experience for doulas learning to doula, and so I listen closely to the needs of the individual person or people that I work with, encouraging my mentees throughout our time together to discover – and uncover – their own power and resilience. As a doula mentor I develop closed trusted and honest relationships with my mentees, ensuring that you feel well held and supported during your own work. I believe strongly in community care, and hope to serve my mentees in this way, connecting you to your extended doula community in whatever ways you need.
I am also a Community Elder and Volunteer Doula with Doulas Without Borders, a charity that provides free care to women who are sufferers of domestic and sexual violence, homelessness, extreme poverty or are refugees or asylum seekers (doulaswithoutborders.com).

Jo Kidman, Birth Doula Mentor
Jo was called to step onto her doula path after the birth of her three children and a long-standing interest in reclaiming our power in birth. She was guided to train with Conscious Birthing and completed a transformative and immersive 5 day course with Kate in St Ives, Cornwall and was then mentored by Kate as a part of her student programme. Jo lives with her family in beautiful rural Cornwall and works as a birth and post-natal doula supporting families from moor to sea on the transformative and sacred journey they make into parenthood. She has experienced birth in a variety of settings both in Cornwall and Devon, from straightforward home births to more complex hospital births.
Jo is a trained Birthing from Within childbirth educator and mentor and loves to weave journaling, birth art, meditation and a little ritual into the preparation she does with families to help them to tap into their inner strengths and resources, whilst also helping them to navigate birthing in the modern world. She also offers ceremonies and drum journeys for pregnancy, birth and beyond and believes that this is an integral way to honour this important rite of passage.
Bringing women and birthing people together to share their stories has become a busy part of Jo's life and she holds regular pregnancy and post-natal circles from her home in Cornwall. She is passionate about re-building the supportive village that we so need as we experience the highs and lows of pregnancy, birth and the post-partum period.
Being a doula is so much more than just a job for Jo, it is a part of her life. Every family she supports teaches her something new about birth and about herself; it is a journey and she is always learning.
As your mentor, Jo will walk alongside you both holding space and helping you to explore your own unique skills and strengths so that you can grow into your role as a doula and creatively build your practice.
