Student Birth Doula, Franck David: Hello I’m Franck and I am a student Doula under the guidance of Kate Woods at Conscious Birthing. I live in South Queensferry on the outskirt of Edinburgh with my wife and our two teenage sons. I’m one of the rare male Doulas and I’m (also) French!
I feel that being a Doula is a calling; one I felt deeply even before the birth of our two sons. To me, being pregnant, giving birth to a human being is one of the most beautiful, powerful and life changing events that can be. Being part of this is a privilege.
Whilst I offer support, guidance, calmness, reassurance for you and/or your partner, an important part of my role is to help you remember that you hold all the keys to an empowered and peaceful pregnancy and birth.
Bringing a calm male presence to your journey is an option which many people/couples find positive, as I accompany you in support of any hopes, doubts, questions and potential differences which might arise.
