I was inspired to train as a Doula after a friend sent me an extract from Pariremos con Placer/We will Birth with Pleasure by Casilda Rodrigáñez Bustos and after listening to so many difficult stories of birth that moved me.
I know how valuable holding space is for somebody as they go through a scary, momentous or transformative time in their life and how it can help them guide themselves towards what they need. This may look like building trust in your body through grounding exercises and practicing self-confidence, it might be homeopathy, accupressure, singing, or even dancing, some people find doing research rooted in evidence-based and scientific knowledge helps them reach the right decisions for them when thinking about their pregnancy and birth journey. So I'm happy to explore with you.
I recently moved to Dublin and I work for a human rights organization here. I was previously living in Colombia where I worked as a translator, I speak Spanish and Portuguese and I have also worked as a facilitator for international solidarity movements over the last 4 years. I love dancing, I love growing food and I hope to incorporate this into my doula work!
I completed the trauma informed doula education training with Kate at Conscious Birthing in June 2022 which was an amazing opportunity to deeply learn, listen and heal as well as practice making herbal remedies, accupressure and rebozo techniques.
